Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about our Internet Radio Station:

How do I listen to your radio station?
We are an Internet Radio Station, not a regular Terrestrial Radio Station, so you won’t find us on any dial, but right here on our website. Our flash based player should start playing as soon as you come to our website, but in case it doesn’t, we have several options for you:
Listen using Winamp
Listen using Windows Media Player
Listen using Real Player
Listen using Quicktime
Listen using Flash

You can also listen to us through iTunes by finding us under the Radio Shows option, then Talk/News Stations and then scroll down to Talking Alternative and double click on our name.

What do I do if I want to listen to a podcast?
To listen to one of the shows that has already aired, go to the show page of that particular host, turn off the “live” stream, and use the on-demand player to select the show you want to listen to. If you still have a question about listening to a podcast, feel free to email us about your problem. Below are a couple of images to explain further:

What do I do if it suddenly stops playing?
This normally only happens when we switch over from a live show to pre-recorded stream that runs 24/7. If this should happen to you, simply “refresh” or “reload” our website and it should start playing automatically. You can also try to just stop and start the player you are using. Sometimes it has to do with your internet connection, so if the problem persists, trying restarting your computer and coming back to our website. If it still does not work, feel free to email us about your problem.

How do I get on your mailing list?
We send out newsletters the day before our live shows to inform of the upcoming show topics and local events in NYC. To join our mailing list, simply go to this page and fill in your information. You may unsubscribe or leave our mailing list at any time and we do not share, rent or sell our mailing list to anyone! Your information is safe with us.

Do you have a Facebook Fan Page?
Yes we do! You can find us on Facebook at: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=93076149898 – you can share your thoughts about a particular show or ask questions of our hosts right online!

How do I call in to ask a question of one of your hosts/guests?
Our call in number is (877) 480-4120 and is active during our live shows. If a show happens to be pre-recorded, you will not be able to speak to the guest or host, but we will be happy to put you in touch with them.

How can I become a guest on one of the shows on Talking Alternative?
You can submit your request through our Contact Form, please include which show you specifically think you would make a good guest for and why. Also include all of your contact information, website, blog or other resources that we may be able to understand why you would be a good guest for us.

How can I become a host and have my own show on Talking Alternative?
We are constantly expanding our programs and content, and are always on the look out for articulate, professional people with personality! Our motto is Professionals Serving Community, so if you have a message that empowers, enriches or entertains people and you are looking to expand your audience, then please see our Host A Show page here. We broadcast live from our studio on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, so we look for hosts who are local and can commit to doing a weekly show. We interview all candidates in person, and may have you as a guest on one of our shows first, before giving you the option to start your own show. Want to know more? We return with another Special Evening Broadcast with Spiritual Teacher Pierre Dubois for an evening of enlightenment and meditation.

As being and physical existence living on earth, we are part of the body of Gaia, but often our actions display behavior that proves the contrary. If we belong to a whole, we should not act in a manner that attacks and attempts to destroy the whole. Yet this is exactly what humanity has been doing. Like a cancerous cells that attacks and destroys the neighboring cells, humanity has divorce itself from the purpose and intent of the planet.

What are the intentions, energetic and cognitive forces that are guiding the evolution and growth of the planet and all life from in it? Is there an overriding intelligence? How do we align ourselves to that purpose? How do we practically listen to the voice of the planet?

We have a very special event coming in May that is not to be missed! Psychic, Medium, Medical Intuitive and Spiritual Activator Donna Davisreturns from San Diego. Donna has the unique ability to connect to higher cosmic collectives and brings forth information and spiritual energies that are truly unique.

For this special event she will do three activations – one will be a 6 part activation from the Blue Angel Crystal Collective and the second will be the Galactic Mathematician Activation. Each activation will take 30-45 minutes, with an optional third activation taking place at 8:30pm.

Activations are an experience that takes one out of normal waking consciousness to a higher vibrational frequency that shifts certain programs and belief systems. Usually, but not always, a person will feel a level of relaxation to a sensation of bliss. Sometimes, a person will feel no sensation at all.

As we enter this new frequency of planetary light, these activations help bridge the denser physical world with the lighter frequency we are now living in.

A new activation Donna just received is called the activation of the Galactic Solar Flare. As we receive this new energy from the sun, we can download it into our field and make the current earth transition to higher frequencies and more light easier on our physical bodies.
